Cinnamon Apple Snacks

These Cinnamon Apple Snacks are the answer for your next snack attack. They are crisp, cool, sweet and super easy to whip up. Dip them in some protein rich almond butter for a satisfying, healthy snack.

Cinnamon Apple Snacks

I’ve always been partial to apples when it comes to snacking on fruit. Oranges are a close second. Joe loves berries and so do I but I’ll have like, 2 or 3 strawberries and I’ve had enough. He’s OK with that. More berries for him. 😉 Either way, apples are numero uno and these Cinnamon Apple Snacks are a fun way to switch things up a bit.

I stumbled upon this awesome idea from Super Healthy Kids which is a “mom” blog I guess you would say and even though I’m not a mom, I still have a picky eater in the house and “weird” foods can be looked upon with great suspicion. But foods like apples sprinkled with cinnamon and a bit of coconut sugar, that’s pretty normal, right?  It’s kind of like having a mini apple pie in the fridge. A healthy, pastry-less pie. 😉

Sprinkling some cinnamon over apple slices and drizzling almond butter over top is an old school snack I made way back before I even had a blog. This method is way better because you shake the slices of apple in a baggie ( I added a bit of coconut sugar too!) and everything gets nicely coated. Pop the whole bag into the fridge and you will have a crisp, tasty snack ready for eatin’. Mmmm. 🙂

Ingredients

  • 1 large apple cut into slices ( I used a Fuji apple. Yum! )
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tap coconut sugar

Instructions

  1. Add the apple slices to a large Ziploc baggie and sprinkle the cinnamon and coconut sugar on top. Zip the bag and give it a good shake, ensuring the slices are all well coated
  2. Pop into the fridge in the sealed bag and let them chill for at least an hour. Store in the bag for 1-2 days
  3. I recommend a big dollop of almond butter alongside it!

I do love berries (a lot!), but I like apples too! Especially dipped in almond butter. I like this idea too, so simple and perfect for school or work snacks!

I love this! Sometime the simplest ideas are the best ones. Next time when my hungry kids ask me what they should eat (which is pretty much all the time!), I’m going to suggest this idea.
