Green Juice
This juice is green.
And yes, my new moniker is Captain Obvious. 😉
Green Juice doesn’t need a lot of describing. I have juiced green things. Done.
On the calendar, winter is over, but the temperature in my neck of the woods apparently does not know it yet. Subsequently, I had a bunch of greens that were intended for smoothies in my crisper on the verge of being compost. Because of the cold weather, I have not been in a smoothie mood, at all.
I don’t like seeing my hard earned dollars go to waste, so I decided to (literally) dust off my juicer and turn these greens into Green Juice. Boom.
Reading up on juicing has been pretty interesting. I mostly like the smoothie route because of the fibre and, if I’m honest, the bananas. Banana juice just isn’t a thing.
Anyways, I stumbled on a great tip to think of Green Juice like a vitamin, not a meal replacement. Have it on an empty stomach and consider it a whole food supplement.
Smart.
I didn’t want this Green Juice to feel like punishment, so I added in lots of fruit to sweeten the deal.
Green grapes and ripe pears were perfect.
Drinking the juice was kind of weird because you could smell the kale more than taste it. The Green Juice itself was nicely sweetened.
Now if only this Spring-time weather would sweeten up a bit for me. Le sigh.
