Homemade Ginger + Apple Tea - Made With Apple Cores

Ingredients

  • 2-3 apple cores
  • 2 inches fresh ginger, sliced into thin pieces
  • 3 cups water

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients into a small sauce pan and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for five minutes.
  • Strain into mugs and enjoy warm.

Notes

  • After you finish eating an apple for a snack or you make an apple recipe, place the cores in a Ziploc bag and keep them in the fridge for making this tea. They will keep in the fridge for 3-5 days. 
  • Wrap any leftover ginger in foil and store in the fridge for up to a week.
  • Try adding different spices such as cinnamon, allspice, and even whole cloves to enhance the apple flavors.
  • This recipe is sugar-free but if you feel the need for a little something sweet, add a spoon of honey or maple syrup to sweeten it naturally.
