Preheat the oven to 325° and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set it aside.
In a medium mixing bowl, stir together the maple syrup with the cayenne pepper and a pinch of salt.
Add the pecans into the bowl and stir, mixing well to coat the nuts.
Dump the coated pecans onto the prepared baking sheet and spread them into a single layer.
Roast for 20 minutes, stirring at the halfway mark to make sure nothing burns.
Remove from the oven and stir again. Let them cool on the pan for another 10 minutes.
