I love a good viral TikTok trend, especially if it’s a delicious dessert. Back in the day, it was banana nice cream, and a couple of summers ago we all were following the viral date bark craze. This yummy cookie dough cobbler is our new fave.

Why you will love this recipe

  • It is REALLY easy, and the payoff is BIG. Seriously yummy and satisfying dessert with zero effort.
  • Cute enough to serve guests, making a dinner party a lot easier.
  • This recipe is naturally gluten-free (if you use my recipe for the frozen sugar cookie dough). Bonus!

Ingredient notes

Find the complete ingredient list, with measurements, in the recipe card below.

  • Frozen Berries – We grab a big bag of organic frozen mixed berries at Costco that has strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cherries. It is PERFECT.
  • Sugar Cookie Dough – You can buy it (like Sweet Loren’s on Amazon), but we love our homemade version of frozen sugar cookie dough that is naturally sweetened with wholesome ingredients.

Expert Tip!

Use frozen fruit. The frozen berries will release their juices as they cook, giving you that sweet sauce with no need for added sugar.

Step 1

First, preheat the oven to 350.

Step 2

Then, measure the fruit into the dish and top it with the frozen cookies.

Step 3

Next, pop it into the oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes. Watch for the cookie topping to be golden brown on top, and the fruit should have lots of juice coming out.

Step 4

Finally, take the cobbler out of the oven and let it rest for about 5 minutes.

Enjoy warm.

Top with whipped cream or ice cream if you want to make it super good.

Substitutions and recipe variations

You can use any frozen fruit you want. We use a berry blend, but you can use all strawberries or all blueberries. Frozen peaches also worked SO well.

Adding a sprinkle of cinnamon, a splash of vanilla, or a squeeze of lemon over the berries can add more depth if you want to take this recipe up a notch.

Make individual desserts by baking the cobbler in a small oven-safe ramekin.

Serving suggestions

Portion into two bowls and top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. We use our Vitamix whipped cream if you want an easy blender recipe. Lighten it up a bit by topping with a dollop of Greek yogurt. Or keep it vegan with this coconut whipped cream.

Pair it up with a nice chai-spiced coffee or warm vanilla almond milk for a full dessert experience.

FAQS

Do I need to thaw frozen berries first?

No, the frozen berries can go straight into the baking dish. They’ll release their juices as they bake.

What kind of berries work best for this cobbler?

A mix of berries like blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries works well, but you can use whatever you have on hand.
