Ingredients

Find the full ingredient list, with measurements, in the recipe card below.

  • Broccoli + cauliflower florets – You can use either fresh broccoli and fresh cauliflower or frozen.
  • Cream cheese – Based on my firsthand experience, this is all you need to create a creamy sauce. Forget the canned soup!
  • Shredded cheese – We like using marble cheddar cheese but sharp cheddar cheese, parmesan, gouda, gruyere, and mozzarella cheeses all work well too.
  • Garlic powder – This adds a punch of flavor to the sauce. You could also substitute onion powder.
  • Fine sea salt – A pinch of salt is essential to bring out the flavors of your ingredients.
  • Black pepper – The slightly spicy flavor helps to balance the creaminess.

Made this for my vegetarian kids on Thanksgiving. I added a little milk and extra cheese. My broccoli and cauliflower had cooled so add a little milk to thin so cheese would coat them. Was a big hit. I myself do not like broccoli and only eat cauliflower when raw. But the kis all loved it.

I’ve had cheesy broccoli before, but never broccoli combined with cauliflower in a creamy dish. But my youngest LOVES cauliflower and we purchased two big Costco-sized bags of both veggies this weekend, so we gave this a try. So much YUM!
