Strawberry Cucumber Green Smoothie

Strawberry Cucumber Green Smoothie-

OK! First things first. Yesterday was huge. It was massive.

One of my recipes -> these Sunbutter Cups <- was featured on a ‘link love’ post on Oh She freakin’ Glows!

Angela’s blog was the first ‘healthy living’ blog I had ever read. I found it when doing an online search for how to make your own larabars. This was literally 2009. It was a strange time for me. I was working part time as a receptionist, hoping for some inspiration of ‘what I was going to do with my life’. I worked the quieter shifts and had a lot of time to surf the internet. Angela posted three times a day back then. God bless her, I don’t know how she did it, but it was like a little life line for me. I eagerly awaited her posts, updating us on her life while also providing incredibly delicious, healthy recipes. I admired her courage to leave a job that was unfulfilling and follow her heart. This blog had such a positive influence on me and I was so motivated to eat healthier, exercise regularly, and pursue my dreams. I am so grateful to Angela for writing her blog with honesty, creativity, and authenticity.

Oh! And I’m grateful to her for Green Smoothies! I was right there with her when she attempted her first ‘Green Monster’ as she dubbed them. Of course, they became a staple of mine also. A green smoothie was actually my very first post, way back when. You can check it out -> here <- and have a laugh at my photos! 😉 We’ve come a long way baby.

This green smoothie is my current favourite. Fresh, hydrating cucumber and my new go-to frozen fruit, the strawberry, make a perfect combination. Add in some frozen banana for that creamy, frothiness.

I used Swiss chard and romaine to put the ‘greens’ into this green smoothie. I find that they blend really well and have a very neutral taste.

Give it a good blend until it is smooth and frothy. Delicious health in a glass.

I’d like to end this post with a big thank you! Thanks so much to those who regularly read my blog, friends who have shared it with their friends, my co-workers who happily double as recipe taste testers, complete strangers who have encouraged me, those who leave me lovely, sweet comments, and even those who don’t. Through writing this site, a whole new world has opened up to me and I am so grateful.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone! 🙂
