Cleanse – Day 1

CleanseDay1-2

I woke up raring to go this morning. I typically don’t work on Mondays and sleep in a little but, not this Monday. I’m up and at ’em with a to-do list to conquer. Could my energetic mood have anything to do with the amazing class I went to yesterday morning? It was another great Sunday with Fit in the Core where Angie from Four Forty Fitness led us through a pilates/yoga class that was both a great workout and very relaxing. We even ended up with some swag!

So onto today where I started my day with my ‘lemony flax’ drink. Yummy!

Then I steeped myself a nice cuppa green tea and didn’t think about coffee at all;)

After enjoying my tea I blended up my beloved green smoothie. I love these. They are an everyday staple for me, cleanse or no cleanse, and I feel so good when I drink them.

Now, I’m about to get chopping and make myself the bean salad I will be enjoying for lunch. My snacks today are going to be a bowl of fresh berries and later a sliced apple with almond butter and sprinkled with cinnamon.

I wanted to mention that I’ve received a few negative comments, tweets, etc. lately. Something I knew I may have to deal with eventually was, for lack of a better word, ‘haters’. Putting yourself out there on the internet sets you up for people who don’t know you or have never met you to pass their judgements. It’s kind of a new world to me as until very recently (like 3 months!) I had no part of social media. No facebook, no twitter, no nothing! I want to grow the readership for my blog and realize that these things are good tools for that but, with it comes the opportunity for others to say hateful or negative things about you, while they hide behind their keyboards.  Luckily, I am an extremely confident person. When strangers are nasty or mean spirited towards me, it sticks for a brief moment then bounces off. I have a small, close circle of loved ones, whose opinions matter greatly to me and outside of that, I don’t pay any attention to the negativity of a small few, close minded, obviously lonely people who are probably suffering from low self esteem.

My intentions with this blog is to be useful for those looking for healthier ways to eat. I want to share delicious recipes that just so happen to be good for you. I’ve been blessed with so much encouragement from people out there that like my style and the recipes that I provide, so I plan to continue being myself and doing exactly what I’ve been doing. I hope you like it and if you don’t, please just move on.

God Bless:)

  1. What a great shot of downtown Burlington! I was hoping to make it to Fit in the Core again this week, but I felt like a zombie yesterday – hopefully next weekend!

Sorry about the negativity you’ve been dealing with girl. That’s never fun, but it’s unfortunately part of the package that comes with blogging. I’m glad you’re able to ignore it and just be yourself! 🙂

    1. Thanks, Chelsea. That’s my view now that it’s no longer obstructed by cranes working on the pier:)
