HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE PITA CHIPS

How do you make pita chips from scratch? It is unbelievably easy! Start by cutting the pita bread into wedges. This makes scooping dips a breeze.

Once the pan is nice and warm, add the wedges of pita bread. Try and leave a bit of space between the pieces to help with browning.

FAQ’S, TIPS + SUBSTITUTIONS

What are the healthiest pita chips? Obviously, homemade is the healthiest because you have all of the control over the quality of your ingredients. Choose whole wheat or sprouted grain pita bread and organic olive oil.

What to eat with pita chips? The BEST pairing for pita bread chips is always a Classic Hummus but tzatziki or even guacamole is nice also. This crispy treat is also nice crumbled into salads like Fattoush Salad.

TIP! Make sure the pan is sufficiently heated up before adding in the wedges of pita bread. If not the oil will absorb into the bread making it soggy instead of crispy.

If you are looking for a different oil than olive oil you can substitute another high-heat friendly option like non-GMO canola oil, coconut oil, or avocado oil.
