Ingredients

Find the complete ingredient list with measurements in the recipe card below.

  • Greek Yogurt – We prefer using Greek yogurt as it is creamier and contains more protein than regular yogurt.
  • Peanut Butter – Choose a natural peanut butter with only peanuts listed on the label. See our list of the best healthy peanut butter brands.
  • Protein Powder – Our choice is always Ora So Lean So Clean vanilla protein powder. It has an excellent ingredient list and tastes great!
  • Chocolate Chips—Dark chocolate chips or semi-sweet chocolate chips are a great choice because they contain less sugar than milk chocolate.
  • Coconut Oil – Adding this to the chocolate will give your dessert that yummy chocolate shell on top.
  • Chopped Peanuts – Just a sprinkle to give some crunch and texture. Plus, they look pretty!

Expert Tip!

Drawing from my experience, I recommend placing the bowls on a small baking sheet before putting them in the freezer. This simple step makes it much easier to transfer the bowls to and from the freezer when adding the topping, etc.

Substitutions

  • Substitute any kind of nut butter, including almond butter and pecan butter.
  • For a dairy-free option, coconut yogurt can be substituted for Greek yogurt. It has a similar texture and tanginess, although the coconut flavor may come through.

Recipe Variations

  • To make these into bite-sized snacks, use a muffin tin or mini muffin pan. Line the pan with paper muffin liners or silicone muffin cups, and portion the mixture evenly.
  • Sprinkle a bit of flakey sea salt and coconut over top for a punch of complexity and contrast to the sweetness of the chocolate and peanut butter mixture.
